Maritime Radar Environmental Perception, Target Detection and Recognition

Radar detecting targets at sea is susceptible to sea clutter, especially under high sea conditions, it is difficult to detect and identify targets. To improve the performance of the target detection and recognition, it is very beneficial to improve the ability of the sea surface environment perception and the information utilization rate of the sea surface echoes. This special session aims to promote research, innovation and knowledge exchange related to the advances in maritime radar target detection and recognition.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

‒ Maritime radar environmental perception

‒ Analysis of sea clutter characteristics

‒ Target detection method in characteristic domain

‒ CFAR target detection method

‒ Maritime target identification

‒ Maritime Intelligent Radar signal processing

AProf. Ningbo Liu (1983-), male, associate professor of Information Fusion Institute, Naval Aviation University, postgraduate tutor, Ph.D., the postdoctor of the second academy of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. His research interest is intelligent signal processing and maritime radar target detection. He was funded by the national natural science foundation (NSFC), the field foundation of the Science and Technology Commission of the Central Military Commission and the Equipment Development Department, the China postdoctoral foundation. He won the first prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award.

Prof. Shuwen Xu(1985-),male, Ph.D., Professor with the National Laboratory of Radar Signal Processing, Xidian University, Ph.D tutor and postgraduate tutor, and Deputy Director of Planning and Development Department in Xidian University. He received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees, both in electronic engineering, from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2006 and 2011, respectively. He worked as a visiting professor in McMaster University, Canada in 2017 and 2018. His research interests are in the fields of maritime radar target detection, statistical learning, and SAR image processing.

AProf. Yong Huang (1979-), male, associate professor of Naval Aviation University, postgraduate tutor, Ph.D., the postdoctor of the 38th Research Institute of China Electronic Technology Corporation. His research interest is MIMO radar target detection, radar target fractal and transform domain detection, track-before-detect, sea clutter characteristic analysis, sea clutter suppression, radar target CFAR detection, and the application of the above technologies. He was funded by the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC), the Science and Technology Bureau of Shandong province and the Equipment Development Department of CMC. He won the first prize of provincial and ministerial science and technology progress award.
